Held in our community classroom, this six-week course uses lectures, discussions, readings and exercises to explore the art of writing in an in-depth yet accessible way. Each week focuses on a different aspect of writing, from the basics of craft to literary appreciation and philosophy.

This week’s topic is character. We will discuss how different genres use character to humanize stories, and we’ll practice character descriptions that are more than skin-deep. Followed by an opportunity to workshop anything you’re writing with the group.

Weekly attendance is not required, but it is encouraged. All you need is something to write with and a desire to start.
