Held in our community classroom, this six-week course uses lectures, discussions, readings and exercises to explore the art of writing in an in-depth yet accessible way. Each week focuses on a different aspect of writing, from the basics of craft to literary appreciation and philosophy.
This week’s topic is dialogue. We will discuss how different genres of writing use dialogue to create distinct, realistic characters and drive plots forward, and practice by writing a short, short story. Followed by an opportunity to workshop anything you’re writing with the group.
Weekly attendance is not required, but it is encouraged. All you need is something to write with and a desire to start.
